Sport Taekwondo Ireland has some of the most experienced Taekwondo instructors in Ireland teaching the Olympic Sport and Korean Martial Art of Taekwondo. All our instructors are registered black belts with the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) the governing body for Olympic Taekwondo. Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and Olympic sport developed from a number of ancient Korean arts many thousands of years old.
The name Taekwondo translates Way of Hands and Feet. In 1955 the name Taekwondo was officially adopted as the name for the martial art. Taekwondo became an official medal event in the Olympic Games in Sydney.
With our experienced team of Taekwondo instructors and coaches we offer the highest standard of training in both traditional Taekwondo and competition (Olympic Taekwondo) sparring. Senior instructors are Master Stephen Howe 6th dan black belt, Master Gerry Monaghan 5th dan black belt and Master John Kelly 5th dan black belt. Membership is open to students at all levels and club membership is also available.
