About Us

Sport Taekwondo Ireland are members of World Taekwondo Ireland, the governing body for World Taekwondo (Olympic Taekwondo).
We have Classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday in Trinity Comprehensive School Ballymun.

We have some of the most experienced Taekwondo instructors in Ireland teaching the Olympic Sport and Korean Martial Art of Taekwondo.

All our instructors are registered black belts with the World Taekwondo, the world governing body for Olympic Taekwondo.

We offer the highest standard of training in both traditional and competitive (Olympic) Taekwondo sparring, with Senior Coach John Kelly acquiring over 40 years coaching experience at a local and international level.

We deliver high quality training to both children (ages 5+) and adults alike, from beginner to experienced level.

Located in Trinity Comprehensive School Ballymun, catering for students from the locality as well as from Finglas, Glasnevin, Santry and the surrounding areas.

Our Taekwondo team is both successful and highly regarded in competition, competing across Ireland and abroad.

Taekwondo

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and Olympic sport developed from a number of ancient Korean arts many thousands of years old.

The name Taekwondo translates Way of Hands and Feet.

In 1955, the name Taekwondo was officially adopted as the name for the martial art.

The ITU are the national governing body for WT Olympic Taekwondo in Ireland

World Taekwondo

World Taekwondo (WT) is the International Federation (IF) governing the sport of Taekwondo and is a member of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) and International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
